Don’t Count the Cavaliers Out Just Yet
The champagne will have to travel with the Warriors to Cleveland after they dropped Game 5 of the NBA Finals at home in Oakland on Monday night.
FOX’s Jared Max reports:
It was a must-win game for the Cleveland Cavaliers, had they lost in Oakland, the Golden State Warriors would’ve been NBA champs for the second straight season.
Game was tied 61-61 at halftime, but then the Cavaliers outscored the Warriors by nine in the decisive third quarter and then held Golden State to only 12 points in the fourth. Cavaliers win 112-97. Still down three games to two, Cleveland will host game six on Thursday:
(James) “We had a mindset that we wanted to come in here to just try and extend our period, have another opportunity to fight for another day.”
Both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving each scored 41 for the Cavs, first time in NBA history two teammates hit 40 in the same game.
