‘American Sniper’ Widow Wins Appeal in Defamation Case over Jesse Ventura

The widow of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle wins her appeal in the Jesse Ventura defamation case.

    FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:

The U.S. Eighth circuit court of appeals overturns a $1.8 million verdict in the 2014 defamation case won by former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, who sued the estate of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, whose memoir “American Sniper” described a fight between him and Ventura that Ventura contends never happened.

Kyle’s widow Taya Kyle appealed and in a 2-1 decision the court tossed out a $1.3-million award to Ventura, ordering a district court in St. Paul to conduct a new trial on a $500,000 defamation judgment.
