**Editors Note: Developing Story.**

Flags are flying at half-staff nationwide to remember at least 50 lives lost in a nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

FOX's Gurnal Scott has the story:

We know a bit more about Omar Mateen, who is the shooter who died in an exchange of gunfire with police after taking 50 lives.

He was twice investigated in 2013 and 2014 about ties to terrorists, according to the FBI.

Those associations could not be validated and thus, the ATF's special agent Trevor Velinor said he had no gun restrictions.

(Velinor) "He is not a prohibited person so he could legally walk into a gun dealership and acquire and purchase firearms. He did so. And he did so within the last week or so."

Florida investigators are still working to identify the bodies still inside the Pulse club and notify their relatives.
