Take a Little Piece… of My House! Janis Joplin’s Childhood Home is Up for Sale

Would you like to own a piece of rock music history? A house in Texas where singer Janis Joplin lived as a child is up for sale. How much is it going for?

FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:

Janis Joplin’s childhood home is for sale for $500,000.

(Joplin) “And take it, take another little piece of my heart.”

The Port Arthur home has a Texas historical commission marker outside confirming that she lived there. Joplin was a preschooler when the family moved into the nearly 1,500-square-foot house.

Joplin’s wildly painted 1964 Porsche 356c Cabriolet fetched $1.76 million during a December auction.

Tax appraisal records value the home at $52,500. The seller hasn’t been made public.
