President Obama Set to Make Historic Visit to Hiroshima
The President will make an historic visit to Hiroshima.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
White House Spokesman Josh Earnest said that when the President visits the Peace Park in Hiroshima later this month, one thing he won’t do is offer Japan an apology for the U.S. dropping an atomic bomb on the city.
(Earnest) “He’s just going to offer some short simple reflections on the visit that will include an observation about the way that the relationship between the United States and Japan has been transformed.”
An estimated 80,000 people were killed in Hiroshima when an atomic bomb was dropped on the city near the end of World War II.
