Facebook Responds to Claims of Blocking Conservative News

Facebook is responding to charges that it blocks conservative news.

    FOX’s Kerin McCue reports:

Reports that first surfaced on the web tech site, Gizmodo, that Facebook routinely suppresses “news of interest to conservative readers” is being refuted by the social media giant.

Facebook denies the allegations, adding they adhere to “rigorous guidelines” to ensure political neutrality.

The anonymous former news curator for Facebook who first spilled the beans to Gizmodo said stories from popular, politically conservative outlets were deliberately left off the trending news sidebar.

But another unnamed former FB news curator counters the charges and says they judge a story’s newsworthiness by how often it appears in trusted news outlets such as the BBC or New York Times.
