Dogs are Getting High in Colorado

Recreational use of marijuana is legal in Colorado, but that’s supposed to be for people, not dogs.

    FOX’s Gary Baumgarten reports:

Linda Gryski of Lakewood, Colorado, took their dog Coco on an outing and when they got home, Coco was lethargic:

(Gryski) “She was completely unresponsive, her head just was shaking back and forth, we were trying to get her to walk and she kept wobbling and falling over.”

They took the puppy to an emergency veterinarian hospital and the doctor asked her if they used marijuana. It’s because they’ve seen a lot of cases like this. As many as five high dogs a day!

The treatment: give the dog an IV until it’s flushed out of its system. The vets say since marijuana became legal, dogs are finding and eating discarded joints and getting high in frightening numbers.
