Takata’s Recalling up to 40 Million More Air Bag Inflators

An already massive recall of faulty airbags just got bigger.

FOX’s Gurnal Scott has the story:

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says Takata is recalling up to 40 million more air bag inflators.

NHTA administrator Mark Rosekind called the action urgent after recent deaths:

(Rosekind) ”The tenth confirmed fatality in the United States, due to a rupture of a recall inflator. Then just this morning, Honda announced there have been two more fatalities.”

Those in Malaysia. Takata has only fixed fewer than a third of affected vehicles over two years. The end of 2019 is the projected date to complete all repairs.
