AP Report: MLB to Postpone Pirates-Marlins Game in Puerto Rico due to Zika Virus

The Olympic Games are not the only sporting event concerned about Zika.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

The Associated Press reporting that Major League Baseball is going to move or postpone the Pittsburgh Pirates-Florida Marlins series set for Puerto Rico later this month due to the Zika virus.

The Marlins especially have had concerns about playing in Puerto Rico. Health officials briefed the team about the disease, which apparently shocked some players and heightened fears to the point where the team took a vote on whether or not to play. Results of that vote haven’t been shared.

The two-game set was scheduled for the 30 and 31.

A final announcement from the league is expected this week.
