Tough News for BP Investors, U.S. Supreme Court Denies Appeal from 2010 Gulf Oil Spill Lawsuit

Investors who sued BP after the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill fall short at the U.S. Supreme Court.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

Investors who bought shares of BP in the couple of years before the 2010 Gulf oil spill will not be able to try to recoup some losses.

The U.S. Supreme Court has denied an appeal that was aimed at reviving a class action lawsuit against the oil company. A lower court refused to certify the lawsuit.

After the oil spill disaster, BP’s stock price plummeted, costing the company more than $55 billion.
