Special Administrator will Oversee the Prince Estate
A special administrator will oversee the settlement of Prince’s estate.
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has the story:
Carver County district judge Kevin Eide confirmed last week’s appointment of Bemer Trust to handle the estate of Prince, who died last month at age 57.
Prince’s only full sibling, Tyka Nelson, his sister, requested the appointment, saying Prince had no known will.
At the hearing, the judge asked the courtroom whether anyone knew of a will, and no one spoke up. Prince’s four half-siblings also attended, one did not.
The hearing did not address how long the estate may take to settle or how much it’s worth. His Minnesota property holdings alone are worth about $27 million and his music is likely to be worth far more than that.
