FOX’s Jeff Monosso has more:
It’s 15 months in prison for Dennis Hastert as Judge Thomas Durkin repeatedly called him a serial child molester, saying it disgust him to utter the words child molester and U.S. House Speaker in the same sentence.
The judge also ruled that Hastert will undergo sex offender evaluations and pay $250,000 to a victims fund. A sentencing over bank fraud charges and illegally structuring payments in a hush money case over past sex abuse when Hastert was a wrestling coach in Yorkville, Illinois, decades ago. Abuse charges that are too old to be tried.
Hastert who sat in a wheelchair, also apologized for what he called past misconducts. After hearing emotional testimony from one victim and another victim’s family member who the judge told he believed.
