Republicans Will Use Same Playbook Come Convention Time in July

When Republicans gather in Cleveland in July. They’ll follow the same playbook they have for more than a century.

FOX’sJared Halpern has more from Washington:

The playbook Republicans use at the convention is the same used by the House of Representatives and will stay that way. The RNC’s Rules Committee rejected a proposal from Solomon Yue to use Robert’s Rules of Order used by many legislatures and city councils.

(Yue) “And presidingofficer and convention chairman has authorityto decide and that concerns me.”

But most rules committee members warned against any changes to convention rules wary it could appear to favor one candidate over another:

(Committee Member) “Is this the convention where you want to try out for the first time a new set of operating rules?”

Any change now to convention rules will wait until July.
