Legendary artist Prince has died at the age of 57.

FOX's Jacquelyn Karl reports:

Pop music superstar Prince has died at his home in suburban Minneapolis. Prince was born Prince Rogers Nelson on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He later changed his name four times.

Prince's early music career saw the release of 'Prince' in 1979, 'Dirty Mind' in 1980 and 'Controversy' in 1981. All of which created controversy because of their fusion of religious and sexual themes.

Prince later released the albums '1999' and 'Purple Rain', cementing his superstar status.
