A Late Rent Payment in Florida Turns Deadly

A fatal shooting in Florida over a late rent payment.

FOX’s Pat O’Neill has the details:

Police in Hialeah say 76-year-old Reineiro Caballero is in custody after admitting he shot and killed 46-year-old Ramon Gutierrez Castillo.

Caballero, a landlord, reportedly went to collect $550 Castillo still owed him for his April rent. The two argued and Castillo went back into his apartment and locked the sliding glass door.

Police say Caballero then went to his own nearby residence, returned with a gun and shot through the glass hitting Castillo in the hip.

During the ensuing fight, they say the landlord overpowered Castillo, who was shot in the face. Caballero is charged with first-degree murder and armed burglary.
