A Number of 2011 Hyundai Sonatas are Being Recalled

Power steering problems have Hyundai recalling tens of thousands of cars.

    FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:

173,000 2011 Hyundai Sonatas are being recalled in the U.S. because the computer circuit board in the Sonata’s power steering control unit can become damaged and fail.

The cars would still have manual steering, but it would take more effort to turn the cars and could cause a wreck, though Hyundai says drivers would first see a warning light on the dashboard.

Hyundai says it’s not aware of any crashes or injuries. The company started investigating the problem last year after getting multiple warranty claims and says it will soon begin notifying customers of a free fix beginning next month.
