NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Deep in the Heart of Texas on Saturday Night
The NASCAR Sprint Cup rolls in to Texas Motor Speedway for Saturday night racing and the Duck Commander 500 and how is team owner Joe Gibbs adjusting to NASCAR’s new aero package this season and Peyton Manning taking a trip to Pit Row.
FOX’s Marghiee Teshineh with “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
The Sprint Cup heads to Texas this Saturday, a track where driver AJ Allmendinger is still looking for success:
(Allmendinger) “It’s you know a place that I’ve had decent runs, but I’ve never really had great runs there. So I’m always kind of searching to feel what I need.”
But AJ’s luck could be changing, after earning a second place finish at Martinsville:
(Allmendinger) “I know the guys back at the shop are pretty pumped up with the Texas car and well noted, and see what kind of speed we have and kinda base our weekend off of that.”
I spoke to Joe Gibbs Racing, team owner Joe Gibbs about the new Aero package put in place by NASCAR this season. Like it Coach?
(Gibbs) “Our drivers wanted it, our fans wanted it. I think we’re seeing the best racing we’ve had this year. Think about this. We raced five hundred miles at Daytona and we won by one foot.”
And University of Tennessee alum and NFL great, Peyton Manning will be an Honorary Race Official next week at Bristol and watch the race from Dale Earnhardt Junior’s pit box.
