Pentagon Takes a Stand on North Korea Nuclear Warfare

An admission from the Pentagon that it is taking North Korea at its word regarding its nuclear capabilities.

FOX’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:

Hours after a South Korean official said that they believe the North can mount a nuclear warhead on a medium-range missile, a Pentagon spokesman said that while the U.S. does not share that assessment, the Pentagon accepts what they say as a threat and the U.S. needs to take it as real.

Pentagon spokesman Captain Jeff Davis cautioned that the U.S. has not seen North Korea demonstrate that capability. But to deal with this possible threat, the U.S. has a missile defense system.

According to Davis, as North Korea has developed their capability, the U.S. has worked to outpace that capability with a sophisticated defensive system.
