Kris Jenkins’ Last Second Three-Pointer Gives Villanova NCAA Title

In one of the most exciting finishes in NCAA basketball history, Villanova defeated North Carolina on Monday night in Houston, 77-74 on last second heroics, to win the NCAA Championship.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig has more:

The Villanova Wildcats winning their second Men’s Basketball Championship in school history, beating the North Carolina Tar Heels 77-74 on a Kris Jenkins buzzer-beater:

(TBS) “Three seconds at midcourt, gives it to Jenkins, for the championship… Yes!”

The Tar Heels led for most of the first half on TBS, the Wildcats for most of the second.

But the game rarely got away from either team, a back and forth affair, that kept the second largest crowd in tournament final history on their feet, an announced attendance of 74,340 at Houston’s NRG Stadium, which will be hosting another championship game in less than a year when Super Bowl 51 comes to town.
