Massachusetts Man Under Investigation by FBI for Threats of Attacking Utilities with Pipe Bombs

A Massachusetts man is being investigated by federal authorities for threatening to attack utilities with pipe bombs.

FOX’s Gurnal Scott has the story:

The FBI says Danny Kelly left notes saying he was “going to war” by attacking critical infrastructure. His arrest comes days after firefighters were called out to a brush fire near power lines in Tyngsborough.

Authorities say metal cylinders were found hanging from the cables. One on the ground is believed to have started the fire.

Kelly was considered a prime suspect because of the notes and also what he told the FBI after a 2005 arrest that he was familiar with electrical wiring and could take out the power of a major city like Boston.

The FBI says Kelly’s crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
