Alabama Governor’s Facing Calls for Resignation
Alabama’s Republican governor is facing calls for resignation under threat of impeachment over his conduct with a female staffer that had many suspecting an extramarital affair was uncovered.
FOX’s Eben Brown has the story:
Alabama governor Robert Bentley’s phone-sex scandal has lawmakers, especially fellow Republicans, wanting him out of office:
(Sanford) “Just the whole situation’s creepy if you ask me.”
Paul Sanford is a GOP state senator from Huntsville, who hasn’t decided if he’d go along with impeachment:
(Sanford) “Based on the constitution, it talks about a possible offenses of moral turpitude, offense implies that there’s been a crime.”
The recording of an inappropriate conversation outed both the governor and a female aide, who has since quit, and is now being questioned by many as the cause for governor’s divorce last year from his wife.
