U.S. Special Ops Forces Take Down ISIS’ No. 2 Man

A commander described as the ISIS number two is dead….The Secretary of Defense confirming the death.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

He went by many names, but Defense Secretary Ash Carter simply describes Haji Iman as a well-known terrorist and finance minister for ISIS:

(Carter) “We’ve taken out the leader who oversees all the funding for ISIL’s operations, hurting their ability to pay fighters and hire recruits.”

Carter won’t give specifics of how the leader, who’s also ID’ed as Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, was killed, but two senior defense officials tell FOX News Special Operations forces carried out a raid in Syria early Thursday morning.

Carter says the U.S. is targeting ISIS cabinet officials, noting a war minister’s killing in a U.S. airstrike earlier this month.
