The Obama administration is stepping up its efforts to deport thousands of undocumented immigrants.

The Obama administration is stepping up its efforts to find and deport thousands of undocumented immigrants who were part of that surge of unaccompanied children and families.

Since October, more than 800 immigrants who arrived as unaccompanied children have been sent home and the Department of Homeland Security says hundreds of others have been detained in preparation for deportation.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have both denounced the DHS policy and promised to be more lenient in enforcing immigration laws than President Obama.
