14 Nuclear Base Airmen Under Investigation for Illegal Drug Use

Airmen at a U.S. nuclear base are disciplined for suspected drug use.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:

More than a dozen members of a security force at a nuclear weapons base are suspended, suspected of using illegal drugs, in some cases cocaine.

It’s latest in a string of embarrassments for the nuclear missile corps. An investigation at Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming led to the suspensions, described a commander as 14 airmen ranging in rank from Airman 1st Class to Senior Airman, all junior enlisted personnel.

Officers who control the Minuteman nuclear missiles are not involved in the allegations, defense officials say. An investigation in 2013 uncovered cheating on proficiency tests by launch officers at another missile base.
