‘Wicked’ Passes $1B Mark at the Box Office
The Broadway play that tells the tale of the witches in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ is winning.

‘Wicked’, the Broadway show that tells the backstory of the witches from ’The Wizard of Oz’ has crossed the $1 billion mark at the box office at New York’s Gershwin Theatre:
(Wicked) “So if you care to find me, look through the Western sky.”
Wicked is the third Broadway production in history to hit that milestone following ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’. Worldwide, ‘Wicked’ has grossed nearly $4 billion in sales and has been seen by nearly 50 million people.
The musical has been performed in over 100 cities in 14 countries and is currently the tenth longest-running production in Broadway history.
