There are new updates out on the economy.

FOX's Dave Anthony reports:

We've been paying more at the pump lately. Gas is up 13 cents a gallon in the last week, but when gas was a lot cheaper last month, it dragged down overall U.S. retail sales, falling a tenth of a percent as consumers spent less on cars, electronics and appliances.

Though the government reports we spent more at home improvement and clothing stores and dined out more in February.

Cheaper gas and lower food costs also kept a lid on wholesale inflation. Producer prices dropped .2 percent last month. Something for the fed to consider, federal reserve policy makers are holding a two-day meeting expected to leave interest rates unchanged.
