House Speaker Paul Ryan Insists He’s Not Running for President
House Speaker Paul Ryan is trying to stop a group that wants him to be President.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from the Capitol:
A super PAC called the Draft Ryan Group is trying to collect more than one million online signatures to convince the House Speaker to consider a White House run, especially if the Republican convention becomes deadlocked:
(Mack) “He not only is a great leader, but he’s a great uniter. He’ll unite the party, he’ll unite America.”
Businessman Earle Mack is running the PAC, despite a cease and desist letter sent by Speaker Paul Ryan’s attorney. The letter says the groups activities are not in compliance with federal law.
Ryan himself disavowed the effort earlier this week insisting he is not running for President.
