Banning Abortions Based on Fetal Gender/Disability Bill in Indiana Awaits Approval
Indiana is poised to become the second state to ban abortions over genetic defects.
FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:
The Indiana legislature approved the measure yesterday that would ban abortions sought by parents because a fetus has a genetic abnormality like down syndrome.
The bill allows lawsuits against abortion providers for wrongful death and could lead to professional sanctions, though the measure was passed over the objections of many female legislators, including Republicans.
There’s no word yet whether Republican Gov. Mike Pence, a strong supporter of right to life, will sign it.
