Lawmakers Continue to Discuss Resolution to Zika Virus
Lawmakers continue to struggle with how to respond fully to an increasing threat of Zika virus in the U.S., as more cases are discovered.
FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:
Wednesday’s House Appropriations Committee discussed diverting funds already set aside, but unused for the Ebola pandemic of 2014 to now be re-directed to efforts in research, prevention, and vaccine production for Zika.
Florida’s Surgeon General spoke before as transportation subcommittee about the state’s efforts in preventing public transit from being a viral conduit in a state often filled with international tourists.
Hearings will continue, as it’s learned three pregnant women in Florida who recently traveled abroad are now infected with Zika.
