Afghanistan Peace Talks Expected Next Week

Talks to end Afghanistan’s war with the Taliban are expected soon.

FOX’s Jessica Golloher has the details:

The Taliban and Afghan officials are slated to meet next week for peace talks.

Representatives of Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, and the United States met in Kabul to arrange a date to restart the peace process.

Discussions were derailed last summer after it was revealed that the leader of the Taliban had been dead for more than two years.

Countries have called on the Taliban to enter peace talks with Afghanistan and work toward cutting violence that has killed thousands for more than a decade.

The insurgents have made strides recently since the withdraw of Nato coalition troops at the end of 2014.
