Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer Involved in Alleged Assault Case

A former New York Governor is being investigated in a possible assault case over the weekend.

    FOX’s Gurnal Scott has more:

Former Governor Eliot Spitzer has been accused by a Russian woman of choking her and tossing her to the ground.

Police were sent to a hotel after the woman called 911 saying she cut her wrist. Spitzer answered the door saying there was no problem. Officers later returned to find broken glass and blood-stained clothes in the hotel room.

After the woman was taken to a hospital, she told staff there that it was Spitzer who attacked her after she said she was returning to Russia.

A spokeswoman for the ex-governor says the allegation is not true. Spitzer resigned as Governor in 2008 in the wake a prostitution scandal.
