President Obama Sends His Last Budget Proposal
President Obama sends Congress his plans for government spending next fiscal year.
FOX’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
President Obama’s last budget proposal goes to a Republican Congress that apparently is not much interested in anything he proposes. He wants a tax on oil to reduce the deficit at a time when gas prices are down. Republicans are saying no to that.
The President also proposes an enlarged program for curing cancer, more money for Pell grants for college students, more incentives for states to accept Obamacare, retirement account incentives.
He’s also proposing$1.8-billion to prepare for the Zika virus. Now all that is up to Congress.
