Knicks Fire Head Coach Derek Fisher

An NBA team has fired its head coach.

FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

The New York Knicks keep struggling and it’s cost coach Derek Fisher his job:

(MSG) “Afflalo for three, the Knicks have come all the way back from a 19-point deficit.”

But they still lost Sunday night to the Denver Nuggets on MSG, the Knicks fifth straight defeat. They’ve lost nine of ten falling further back out of contention in the NBA playoff race.

Fisher was only in his second season and had won more games at (23-31) than all of last season, when the Knicks won just 17.

Fisher’s firing elevates associate Kurt Rambis to be interim head coach.
