Groundhog Day: What’s the Forecast?
If you hate Winter… you’ll like the Groundhog Day forecast.
FOX’s Dave Anothy reports:
They descend on Gobbler’s Knob every February 2nd:
(Crowd) “Phil, Phil, Phil, Phil…”
A big crowd waiting for a glimpse of the groundhog Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania:
(Announcer) “Is this current warm weather more than a trend? Per chance this winter has come to an end.”
And then came the furry forecast:
(Announcer) “There is no shadow to be cast… an early spring is my forecast.”
…And that’s rare. Just the 18th time Phil hasn’t seen his shadow since 1887.
Other less famous groundhogs agree: Staten Island Chuck in New York and General Beauregard Lee in Georgia also forecast an early spring. But Buckeye Chuck in Ohio did see his shadow, that rodent is calling for six more weeks of winter.
