Coyotes On the Run Near Downtown Dallas

Coyotes running wild near downtown Dallas has people living in the area on edge.

    FOX’s Gary Baumgarten reports:

David Dean lives on historic Swiss Avenue near downtown Dallas. He’s had a number of close encounters with the fearless coyotes:

(Dean) “We were awaken about 5:45 in the morning, sounded like a lot of children crying out in the front part and I thought goodness gracious, I better see what’s going on. It turned out it was coyotes yapping.”

But it’s not just under cover of darkness that they’ve been spotted. Running in the afternoon across lawns.

Texas wildlife officials say people should let the coyotes know they are not wanted by spraying water on them, honking their horns, or even throwing sticks or rocks at them.

The coyotes, the experts say are there looking for food.
