FOX’s Lilian Woo reports:
Hiring on the upswing in 36 states last month, leading the way, California with more than 60,000 jobs. Texas up almost 25,000 positions and Florida where payrolls grew by close to 22,000.
States seeing the largest percentage gains: Alaska, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Low oil prices costing jobs in oil rich states like North Dakota, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. The widespread hiring helped push down unemployment in 25 states last month with the sharpest declines in Missouri and Oregon.
That rate doesn’t always go down when more hiring occurs because more Americans may start job hunting and push up the rate as others land jobs.
