Chick-fil-A Introduces Kale Salad

A fast food chain working to get a little healthier.

    FOX’s Lisa Lacerra reports:

Kale salad instead of coleslaw at Chick-fil-A. It’s called the “Superfood Side”, a blend of kale and broccoli in a maple vinaigrette dressing topped with dried cherries and nuts.

It was developed in collaboration with James Beard Award nominee and Atlanta-based chef Ford Fry:

(Fry) “What I see a lot of is a lot of moms who don’t have time and they want to bring their kids to Chick-fil-A, so my logic was let’s create something that they can feel comfortable eating that they’ll love that’s good for them.”

The side available nationwide and is much lighter with 140 calories for the five ounce version. The medium coleslaw had 360 calories, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
