Police Allegedly Have Suspect in Custody Who Killed an Ohio Police Officer
Police say they have a suspect in custody in the tragic killing of an Ohio police officer.
FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:
Police say the suspect Herschel Jones went hunting for a cop to kill late last night in Danville, Ohio. A town of about a thousand Northeast of Columbus where police were tipped off by Jones’ ex-girlfriend of his intentions.
But dispatch was unable to make contact with Officer Thomas Cottrell, who a short time later was found shot to death. Jones was later caught after a chase.
Charges are pending as the State Police Union calls the officer’s killing a reminder of how dangerous the job is.
