Star of ‘Grizzly Adams’ Dan Haggerty Dies After Battle with Cancer at 74
The star of ‘Grizzley Adams’, Dan Haggerty has died.
FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:
Dan Haggerty, who was beloved by fans in the 70’s as the bearded mountain man in ‘The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams’ has died after a battle with cancer that began in July, according to his close friend and manager.
Haggerty first starred as Adams in the 1974 movie of the same name:
(Haggerty) “I sure wished I knew what was eating you, you ain’t sick.”
Which eventually found its way over to TV… In the show Adams is best friends with a grizzly bear. He did several follow ups to the series including escape to grizzly mountain. He just finished two new films ’40 Nights’ and ‘The Untold Story’.
He was 74-years-old, his manager saying he died peacefully surrounded by his family.
