Actor Alan Rickman Dead at 69
He was the bad guy in ‘Die Hard’, and the bad guy who turned out to be a good guy in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies. British actor Alan Rickman has died.
FOX’s Simon Owen reports from London:
Alan Rickman’s family revealing he’d had cancer. Saying he died surrounded by relatives and friends:
(Rickman) “I’m going to count to three.”
Rickman cracked Hollywood in 1988 starring as psychopathic villain Hans Gruber in ‘Die Hard’.
Other roles followed, and as a classically-trained stage actor he also had a successful theater career and won a new generation of fans as Professor Snape in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies:
(Rickman) “Sir it’s Quidditch tomorrow. Then I suggest you take extra care Mr. Potter, loss of limb will not excuse you.”
Alan Rickman was 69.
