Mexican Government’s Keeping a Close Eye on ‘El Chapo’ in Jail

The Mexican government is working to make sure recaptured drug lord El Chapo doesn’t escape prison again.

FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has details:

It’s like the prison version of whack-a-mole. To keep him from getting too comfy in one place, Mexican officials are moving Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman constantly from cell to cell inside the maximum security prison where he’s being held.

It’s the same prison the drug lord escaped from through a tunnel six months ago, but now ‘El Chapo’ is now under 24-hour surveillance… That includes all parts of his cell.

The one he escaped from had a blind spot around the shower, which was intended to protect inmates’ privacy.

Mexican officials have said they’re willing to extradite him to the U.S., where he is also wanted, but that could take a year.
