House of Representatives Vacates Nuclear Sanction Deal on Iran

The House of Representatives has passed and then un-passed a bill to make it harder to lift nuclear sanctions on Iran.

FOX’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:

Congressional Republicans say the Iran nuclear deal threatens U.S. security. And so the House had a vote to reimpose sanctions on Iran which are ending under the deal:

“On this vote the yeas are 191 and the nays are 106.”

However, more than 130 members of the House were not present for the roll call. Many of them complained.

Within an hour, the House decided to “vacate” the vote, meaning to declare it meaningless. There’ll be a vote for the record later this month.

The White House has threatened a presidential veto of the bill if it ever gets there.
