Pentagon Sends Two Detainees From Gitmo to Ghana

More detainees from the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba are transferred off the island and sent to Africa.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef, and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby were transferred from Guantanamo to the Government of Ghana.

Bin Atef is an admitted member of the Taliban and fought for Osama bin Laden. Al-Dhuby trained with Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Both detainees spent close to 14 years at Guantanamo.

The Pentagon determined that bin Atef was a high risk to the U.S. and American interests, while Al-Dhuby posed a medium risk.

With the announcement of this latest transfer, 105 detainees remain at Guantanamo Bay.
