A Record Year for Auto Sales in 2015

A record year for auto sales in 2015.

    FOX’s Lisa Brady reports:

Americans have never bought so many cars… More than 17.4 million vehicles sold last year, breaking the previous U.S. record set in 2000.

Low gas prices and low interest rates fueling the rise, along with enough improvement in the labor market to get more buyers moving. The nation’s top selling vehicle: Ford’s F-series trucks — more than one sold every minute.

Ford was also the best selling individual brand for the sixth year running, but GM was the overall leader in the U.S., selling more than three million cars and trucks.

Those low gas prices boosting sales of small SUV’s, but hurting small cars and hybrids and sales of Nissan’s electric LEAF, plunging 43%.
