Chicago Church Opens Up Their Doors After Continued Violence

The continuing violence in Chicago prompts a church to open its doors as a place of refuge.

    FOX’s Gary Baumgarten reports:

The streets are just not safe in many areas of Chicago… That’s why the New Life Covenant Church is opening its doors 24/7 as a place for people to go to escape the violence.

They’re calling it safety in the sanctuary…

(Pastor De Jesus) “We want to present an alternative to the violence in our city, to provide hope in our city. We realize that we need hope at this time.”

That”s Pastor Wilfredo De Jesus, who says the church will stay open, even serving dinner for 21 days.
