Star Wars creator George Lucas is walking back statements he made during an interview about the Walt Disney Company...

FOX's Michelle Pollino reports:

George Lucas is backpedaling on statements he made to Charlie Rose... When Rose asked who he sold 'Star Wars' to.

He has released a statement writing, "I misspoke and used a very inappropriate analogy and for that I apologize. I have been working with Disney for 40 years and chose them as the custodians of 'Star Wars' because of my great respect for the company." He ended the statement with, "I'm blown away by the success and I'm very proud of J.J. and Kathy."

In part of that interview they were talking about Disney choosing to go with something for the fans versus stories submitted by Lucas.
