Iranian Rocket Comes Within 1,500 Yards of U.S. Aircraft Carrier
The U.S. military is accusing Iran of conducting a dangerous rocket test near U.S. warships.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington D.C.:
As a Navy aircraft carrier sailed through the Strait of Hormuz last week, Senior Defense Officials say Iranian rockets passed by within 1,500 yards of the ship, as part of an exercise a U.S. Central Command spokesman calls highly provocative, unsafe, and inconsistent with international law.
The U.S. Navy says an Iranian vessel fired several unguided rockets after giving just 23 minutes notice of the live-fire exercise.
Since this summer’s nuclear deal, Iran has tested missiles, another mover criticized by U.S. officials. There’s been no official comment from Iran.
