George Pataki Ends Presidential Bid

It’s the last stop on the GOP campaign trail for George Pataki.

FOX’s Kathleen Maloney has the story:

The former New York Governor making the announcement in a prime-time TV ad airing in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, which hold the first three GOP presidential contests.

(Pataki) “While tonight is the end of my journey for the White House, as I suspend my campaign for President, I’m confident we can elect the right person… Someone who will bring us together.”

Campaign officials say Pataki worked hard… But it just wasn’t his time. He struggled to raise money and to attract media attention. Pataki consistently trailed in the polls and never made it to a main GOP debate stage. His exit leaves 12 Republican candidates fighting it out for a chance at the White House.
