Chicago Mayor Promises Reform of Law Enforcement System
New training and tactics for the Chicago Police Department, which is struggling to regain public support after a series of police shootings.
FOX’s Steve Taylor reports:
Mayor Rahm Emanuel promises complete and total reform of the law enforcement system and the policing culture in Chicago…
He says just because officers can use deadly force doesn’t mean they should…
(Emanuel) “Helping officers have that distinction and the training that goes with it is essential.”
One specific reform: Emanuel says the city is doubling the number of tasers available to officers on the street, as a substitute for guns.
He says the goal is a taser in every police vehicle with an officer who knows how to use it.
