More police officers have been killed this year than last year, but there are fewer deaths from gunfire.
FOX’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
The number of American law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty stands at 124. That is five more officers than died last year.
The data from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund shows that 42 of the 124 deaths came from gunfire, five fewer than in 2014. However, there are 52 police deaths from traffic-related incidents, three more than last year.
